A crane whose lifting operations are mounted on a specially designed tire‑type chassis, offering off‑road capability and the ability to lift loads without outriggers as well as to travel while loaded. Because its chassis is not an automotive one, the tire crane is not constrained by standard vehicle‑chassis limitations; wheelbase and track width can be optimally configured to meet the overall design requirements. Typically, tire cranes feature a wide track for excellent stability and a short wheelbase with a compact body, resulting in a small turning radius—making them well suited for confined work environments. They can perform operations in all four directions—forward, backward, left, and right—and, on level ground, can lift loads without outriggers and even move slowly while carrying a load.
