What are the main components of an industrial robot?

　　The industrial robotics industry chain comprises robot component manufacturers, robot system integrators, distributors, and end users. The robot system itself is the core of this value chain: typically, system integrators design and develop the robot’s hardware and software, procure components through distributors, and then sell the finished systems to end customers.

　　Industrial robots primarily consist of three basic components: the main body, the drive system, and the control system.

　　The main body—comprising the base and the end-effector—includes the arm, wrist, and hand; some robots also feature a locomotion mechanism. Most industrial robots have 3 to 6 degrees of freedom, with the wrist typically providing 1 to 3 degrees of freedom.

　　Drive system – comprising the power unit and transmission mechanism, with the reducer and servo motor at its core, to enable the actuator to perform the corresponding motion;

　　Control system – It generates command signals for the drive system and actuators according to the input program and performs control.
